Né profeti né somari. Filosofia e scienza nell’Italia del Novecento quindici anni dopo

This paper takes into consideration some works on 20th Century Italian Philosophy published in the last fteen years. Such works are examined from the point of view of the relationships between philosophy and science.The main topics the paper deals with are the in uence exerted by Croce’s and Gentile’s philosophies on Italian culture, some salient aspects of the philosophical renewal which followed the end of Fascism and was carried out by the so-called “Neo-Enlightenment” movement, and their effects on some of the most recent historical reconstructions and debates about historiographic methodology.
